Harmony Day

The 21st of March is Harmony Day!

Harmony Day is held every year on the 21st of March to coincide with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The message of Harmony Day is everyone belongs. It’s a day to celebrate Australia’s diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home.

We are asking students to come to school dressed in mufti (casual) clothing on Monday but they should wear something orange as part of their outfit. For example, one (or all) of the following: an orange t-shirt, orange socks or an orange ribbon or hair tie. Orange is the colour that represents Harmony.

If you would like to find out more about Harmony Day, please go to http://www.harmony.gov.au/about/

We would also like each student to bring a gold coin donation to school on Monday as part of mufti day. All funds collected will be donated to Project Compassion to help people in need across the world.

Thank you,
The KidsMatter Team
